12-22-16 So Many Weddings in December!

We especially love getting wedding announcements!
And we get SO excited when we are able to attend!!!
Isn't she beautiful? We are so happy for the new Mr. and Mrs.!

12-20-16 Missionary Visits to Camarillo:)))

Coming down for a wedding in San Diego, we got a special visit from our missionaries! After lunch in our home, we headed out for a coastal hike.
The sun was just about to go down...
It's a steep but beautiful hike. Signing the log at the top...
 Overlooking the Malibu coast:

The sunset was the most beautiful we've seen since moving here over 25 years ago!

That night we took in a showing of Rogue One!
The next day, our missionaries picked up one more from Los Angeles airport and then headed for Hollywood. On the way, they were T-boned by an young Angelino turning left, leaving their car totaled:((( SO SAD!!! I hurried out to get them...
To make the best of waiting on the insurance company, I took them to see Hollywood at last:
While the tow truck was en route, we found a Taiwanese restaurant called ROC
by the Beverly Center and got some pretty authentic beef noodle take out!
Thursday, we headed for the Los Angeles Temple and met yet another visiting missionary!
Lunch at our favorite "after temple" Asian restaurant, Mr. Noodle:
One reason it's our favorite is because it's right next door to our VERY FAVORITE
amazing ice cream cookie sandwich parlor!
Pick two jumbo cookies and your favorite Dreyer's ice cream!
We are so boring, we order the same thing every single time:(((
For President, it's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Walnut with Mint Chip ice cream.
For me, it's Oatmeal Raisin with Butter Pecan.
What's YOURS?! We can't wait to take you there, so come visit us!!!

12-14-16 Departing Missionaries

So grateful for President and Sister Teh for watching over our missionaries,
and for Elder and Sister Randolph for taking these pictures and posting them on Facebook!
 At Chiang Kai Shek Memorial:

A short ride on the MRT takes them to Shilin Night Market:
Love to see our returned missionary families joining in on the festivities!
Stinky tofu...not so easy to find in America!

Checking in at Taoyuan International Airport:
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON AT APRIL GENERAL CONFERENCE!

8-10-16 Departures

At the top of Taipei 101...looks like it was a clear day!
One of their last MRT rides for a while:
Looks like they're departing bright and early for Taoyuan International Airport:
Checking in:

Only a matter of hours now!

Oh my gosh...what a surprise! After welcoming home their returned missionary,
the family took a quick trip to California...to be present at his cousin's homecoming in
Thousand Oaks (neighboring community to Camarillo)! We are so lucky!
That evening, we had planned to have dinner with our stake president and his close friends, whose son had been called to serve in Taichung. Even better than talking to a former mission president and wife...was talking to a missionary who had just returned from Taichung!
The Lord watches out for His missionaries!

10-25-16 Last Couple of Nights in Taichung...Till We Meet Again!

We had to hit Fengjia Night Market one last time! Since Mango Snowflake Ice is no longer in season, Cantaloupe Snowflake Ice will have to do!

Oh gosh, deep fried mocha balls!
Saying goodbye to good friends is so hard!
We promise to come back to visit soon!
Farewell dinner with another former mission president, with the Taichung East stake president's family:) They have been so kind to us, and we will miss them so much!
